Selecting your Blind

Which room are you putting your wooden blind in?

What slat finish do you prefer?

All slats are clearly labeled with the name, and sizes available. Always remember that being a natural product, there will be slight shade variations from the samples shown

What slat size is best for you?

Think firstly about the depth of your window recess. While most will take the 50mm blind with lots of room to spare, other may be rather narrower. Bear in mind also that when your blind is pulled up, the 25mm option will have a greater stack size than its 50mm equivalent. This means that when your blind
is pulled up more of the glazed area will be covered.

Where do you want the blind controls fitted?

As you face the blind decide whether you would like your controls on the left or right hand side .Choose now to ensure you get the best option for your window.

Do you want your blind to be fitted inside or outside the window recess?

Generally, blinds are fitted into the window recess, in which case the pelmet required to neatly finish the top of the blind, is a single, straight piece. However, if you require your blind fitted outside the recess, the pelmet you require will have a mitred return on both ends so that the entire headrail mechanism is neatly covered. Please be sure to specify this clearly.

If you have taken your window measurements yourself, are you sure they are accurate?

If you have opted to have your blind fitted inside the recess,
you need to record the exact width and drop. As variations
may occur within the window recess, you should take the width
and drop measurements in three places - the sides and in the
middle - and record the shortest of the three widths and the
longest of the three drops.

This means that your blind will not snag on the sides of the recess and will be a perfect length to the sill. Please always give measurements in millimeters.

Be aware of any handles or other window furniture which would
affect the smooth operation of your blind
.

Measuring for a blind to be fitted outside the recess could not
be simpler. Decide how much overlap you want at the sides, top
and bottom and add these to your measurements. Please record sizes in millimeters.
